| 29 May 2010 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Hi Judith! How’s school treating you? Judith Ahonen replies: "Lindsay! *jumps around with joy* These past two months I’ve been working as a milking maid. In a few days I’m off to a heritage farm in southern Finland for working experience (I think that should be the right word). I’m going to get there by bus so I’ll sing along to the lines of a song by the finnish group Egotrippi "At night in a bus a tired passenger, watches the changing landscape through a misty window. Counting the oncoming traffic, while bus stops pass by, knowing anyone of them could have been the right one". The terrible translation belongs to me, whoever wrote the lyrics would turn in his grave if he heard it, and of course happened to have a grave." | |
| 29 Jul 2010 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...How’s farm life treating you? Has it been hot and sunny for most of July over there like it is here? I think it’s making up for the rainy June we had. Life has been keeping me busy between work, friends, and family. My younger brother is home for a week to visit and we’re definitely having a lot of fun. Playing card games and going sailing, etc. Judith Ahonen replies: "I’m back from the farm by now and school starts again next week. July was hot and dry. As worst it was over 30 degrees Celsius And on those rare times there came some rain it only turned the air so humid you feared to drown on dry land. I enjoy 30 degrees below freezing so much more. The hot dry period ended in thunderstorms. I especially remember one night. I was awakened around two in the morning to the mother of all thunderstorms. It was dark but lightning illuminated the sky giving it a red shade. The rumble continued uniterruptedly so I couldn’t figure out how close she was, but I guess she must have passed almost above me. Anyway I’ve had a good time, learned a lot and got some new friends. Lets just see if I can manage to hold on to them, I’m a bit bad at that." | |
| 7 Aug 2010 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Ah, I understand how you feel. Right now it’s gotten quite humid even though it’s been cloudy and rainy the last couple days ... what a change from the week before! We have a lot of forest fires out here so it’s getting quite smoggy too and we’ve had a couple of thunderstorms now. My dogs aren’t such big fans of them How’s the artwork coming along? I’ve been plugging away at my writing, waiting for my muses to help out, so far hasn’t happened the way I’d like it to. I’ve got a page more written on Court Pearl but I’m still stuck at the same part on chapter four of Dragon Mistress. So I’m still waiting to get more of those to post. But CP sure is a lot of fun to write I love the characters because Nonala is so accident prone. Judith Ahonen replies: "I haven’t drawn much lately. No inspiration I guess. I got the insane idea to crochet a bedspread. Guess I’m going to curse myself sooner or later... " | |
| 8 Aug 2010 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Ooo, sounds like fun but I can see how you might be cursing yourself later. I hear crocheting is faster than knitting though, which will be good in the long run. I’m still working on knitting an afghan for my bed! Judith Ahonen replies: "Since it’s more lacelike I think you are right Knitting an afghan sounds like a challenging task. If you cheer on me, I’ll cheer on you " | |
| 30 Nov 2010 | Anitta Hiekkanen | Loading...Hey, long time no see. I hope school is treating you right, ’cause work is trying it’s best in killing me. Or maybe it’s just the weather, not really a fan of the cold :/ Anyways, just stopped by to say hey Judith Ahonen replies: "Much to do, little time to do it, and no inclination to do anything. A fatal combination. I’d love to have somebody stand behind me and force me to get something done...
I on the other hand enjoy the cold. It’s the heat I can’t stand "
| 27 Feb 2011 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Hi Judith, how’s it going? Still busy with those sheep skins? I’m still waiting on chapter 4 to go through the queue. I’m trying to patiently work on chapter 5 in the mean time. | |
| 1 Mar 2011 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...There really aren’t enough writing moderators working right now The queue is SO short! At one point I’d moderated it down until the only thing left was my chapter and it still hasn’t been moderated. *sigh* I am too impatient, lol! Judith Ahonen replies: "Sigh, I know how it feels to wait for something. The sheepskins are down to two, meaning I have tanned eleven during a half year Today I’m off to a neighbouring city, to wisit the library there. Hopefully I wont get lost. I have to go now. Take care." | |
| 4 Mar 2011 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Chapter four is up, woot woot! Judith Ahonen replies: "Thanks, I’ll be there " | |
| 4 Aug 2011 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Hi Judith! How has the rest of your summer been at the farm? Judith Ahonen replies: "Busy, but I like the people there and I like the cows, what more can you ask of life. I became friends with two kittens after playing with them for a while. I’ve longed for days when you can enjoy standing in full sun. Ridden my bike in rain and shine. Went to a medieval fair and met some of my old classmates, oh I’m going to miss them now when that school is over. ...I think I’ve enjoyed myself I don’t know here the time disappeared, there must be some kind of creature that eats time, I think it lives on my shoulder. A small black thing with a long nose and clear yellow eyes.
So, what have you been up to?
And then lets see if I can refrain from going into hiding again "
